Embedded DB Exposed Via Rest

Oct 17, 2014 at 5:30 PM
I was wondering if it is possible to have an embedded database which can then be exposed via rest. For example, a windows service embedding a database which also exposes a restful endpoint. I think(?) I was able to do something like this with RavenDB, but was just wondering if that's a supported scenario with BrightStarDB?

Thanks!

Hi,

This is basically what the B* server does, although you can configure it to run on top of any B* endpoint the B* server is intended really to run on top of an embedded database. As the server is implemented using Nancy it is totally possible to run this embedded in any application (the B* server runner is an example of this). Take a look at the code in https://github.com/BrightstarDB/BrightstarDB/tree/develop/src/core/BrightstarDB.Server.Runner.
