Brightstardb not creating store folder?

Apr 27, 2015 at 11:24 AM
Hello, I'm new to brightstardb, so please go easy on me.

I'm trying to develop application for Windows Phone 8 and use BrightstarDB as the database.
The problem is, Brightstar not creating any store folder, but I can insert data to the database with no problem.
I couldn't find the folder, and if I restart / shutdown my laptop, when it's on again, all my inserted data are gone.

Can someone help me?
I read that WP8 use isolated storage, is this the reason why it doesn't creating any folder?

Hi,

It sounds like you are using the WP emulator in Visual Studio - is that correct ? If so then the reason that the database is not present after a restart is that the emulator does not persist its storage between restarts. As far as I know there is not any way to make it keep the data persistently either - you would instead have to test on a real device.

Cheers

Hi Kal!
Yeah you're right, I'm using the WP emulator in Visual Studio.

And I just realized that the storage is emulated too after I read your answer, I still have a lot to catch up on developing Windows Phone application.
I think I'll try to read more about Isolated Storage.

Thank you for the answer! I'll mark your post as an answer.
